Police warn of rise in crypto account hacks via compromised emails

Singapore police say unauthorised access to cryptocurrency accounts through compromised email accounts has risen since mid-August. Many affected email accounts had appeared in earlier data breaches, and scammers reused stolen credentials to reset crypto passwords. The public is urged to use unique passwords, app-based two-factor authentication and to watch for suspicious inbox rules.
