Bukit Aman: Low costs, good infrastructure draw scam syndicates to Malaysia

Bukit Aman commercial crime chief Rusdi says world-class infrastructure, easy visitor entry and low living costs are why scam syndicates base operations in Malaysia. Cases solved in 2024 involved victims from 16 countries, rising to 20 in 2025 and over 30 so far this year, with about 65% of those arrested having prior travel records to Cambodia.
