UMNO Kedah's informal talks with PAS signal WAWASAN seen as a 'cat party'

UMNO Kedah's move to hold informal talks with PAS is seen as a strategy to avoid direct negotiations with Perikatan Nasional, according to Universiti Malaya political science lecturer Dr Mohammad Tawfik Yaakub. He said the term 'cat party' is believed to refer to Parti Wawasan Negara, which joined PN after Parti Cinta Malaysia was rebranded, and that its use could stir tension within PN if the UMNO-PAS talks grow into an electoral pact.
