Online fraud in Malaysia caused RM2.97 billion in losses last year, says Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa. He said syndicates now use AI and organised structures, and called for cooperation between enforcement, banks, digital platforms and the public. Victims are advised to call the National Scam Response Centre at 997 to freeze accounts quickly.
