Skeletal remains found in drum near Machap dam, murder probe launched

Three men aged 25 to 35 fishing near the Machap dam in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, found a drum and cut open its top, revealing what appeared to be human skeletal remains, and alerted police. Alor Gajah district police chief Ahmad Abu Bakar said the report was received at about 11.40am, the drum was about 15 metres from the road and was moved with Fire and Rescue Department help for hospital examination; the dead person's identity and sex are unconfirmed and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
