NUS student survives cardiac arrest with new defibrillator implant
Koay Lee, a 20-year-old NUS student, collapsed from a cardiac arrest during a medical check at camp on 12 September. He was first taken to Woodlands Hospital and then transferred to the National University Hospital, where doctors implanted a new-generation extravascular implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. He is among Singapore's first young patients to receive the device.
