BMI raises 2026 tin price forecast to US$51,500 on AI demand
BMI has raised its 2026 average tin price forecast to US$51,500 per tonne from US$49,000, citing the artificial intelligence investment boom and stronger semiconductor demand. Three-month tin futures on the London Metal Exchange were around US$54,633 per tonne as of Sept 2, with the year-to-date average at US$51,385. The research house expects some price moderation in the fourth quarter but says tight supply and low inventories will keep the market volatile.
