Singapore government reviewing study on civil servants' home purchases near unannounced MRT stations
The Public Service Division said on Monday it is reviewing the data and methodology of a US-based National Bureau of Economic Research working paper that alleged civil servants disproportionately bought homes near planned but unannounced MRT stations. PSD said it will refer the matter to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau if there is a material basis. The paper, which has not been peer-reviewed, used private-property transactions and the Singapore Government Directory to identify civil servants.
