AI health queries may push Malaysians to see doctors sooner, says HLIB
Hong Leong Investment Bank Research says growing use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT for health questions could nudge Malaysians to seek medical care earlier, lifting demand for private hospital services. It cites Malaysian data showing 65.1% of cancer cases from 2017 to 2021 were found at Stage 3 or 4, and that ischaemic heart disease was the leading cause of death in 2022 and 2024.
