Baby formula case: Abbott agrees to pay S$489 million over Sturgis plant
Abbott Laboratories has agreed to pay about US$385 million (S$489 million) to settle claims that it knowingly sold baby formula made at its Sturgis, Michigan plant that failed safety requirements. The US Justice Department announced the settlement on Monday, September 14, after the plant was linked to a 2022 recall and the deaths of two infants. Abbott did not admit fault in the settlement.
