Najib's pardon deferral was lawful, not personal: Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the decision to defer the royal pardon application filed by former prime minister Najib Razak was made in line with the federal constitution, the rule of law and official legal advice. He said this at a joint press conference with Malaysian media in Calicut, Kerala, before concluding his official visit to India. Anwar stressed his participation in the Pardons Board followed legal procedures and was not driven by personal bias.
