Thailand, Cambodia open UNCLOS maritime conciliation at PCA office in Singapore

Thailand and Cambodia began compulsory conciliation over overlapping maritime claims at the Permanent Court of Arbitration's Singapore office on Sept 15, with Thailand's foreign minister accusing Cambodia of hypocrisy and self-serving claims. The dispute covers about 26,000 sq km of sea believed to hold gas and oil worth roughly US$300 billion, and the process could take up to a year.
