King, Queen advise Malaysians to wear masks as haze worsens
Malaysia's King Sultan Ibrahim and Queen Raja Zarith Sofiah have advised the public to wear face masks and cut outdoor activity as unhealthy air quality from the haze affects Sarawak and parts of Peninsular Malaysia. The statement, posted on the King's official Facebook page, urged senior citizens, children, those with respiratory problems and outdoor workers to take precautions and monitor daily API readings. Smoke from fires in Kalimantan is being blown towards Sarawak by southwesterly winds.
