Sarawak targets 50 million trees planted from 2026 to 2030
Sarawak has set a target of planting 50 million trees under the Malaysia Greening Programme 2.0 for 2026 to 2030, after exceeding its 35 million tree goal for 2021-2025. Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said forests are not only a timber source but a biodiversity treasure, carbon store and natural defence against climate change, in line with PCDS 2030.
