Worst haze in 11 years hits Kalimantan, air quality in Malaysia and Singapore affected
Forest fires in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, are the worst in 11 years, with thick haze blanketing Pontianak and unhealthy air quality in Singapore and Malaysia. Over 12.5 million people are exposed to haze across seven provinces in Borneo and Sumatra, with respiratory cases more than doubling. Indonesia has deployed over 50 aircraft and received aid from Japan to fight the fires.
