Pahang haze worsens, all five API stations record unhealthy readings
Hazy conditions and reduced visibility hit several areas in Pahang today, with all five API monitoring stations in the state recording unhealthy readings. Indera Mahkota in Kuantan recorded 164, the highest in Pahang since the haze began, and schools in Kuantan have suspended outdoor co-curricular activities. A state committee chairman advised residents to limit outdoor activity, avoid open burning and wear masks.

A total of 38 areas across Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index readings as of 9 am, with Sarawak, Johor and Selangor among the worst affected. The readings ranged from 117 in Sungai Petani to 188 in Serian, while 30 other areas recorded moderate API levels.
