Police completing probe into Negeri Sembilan MB's claim he was forced to sign proclamation
Police are still completing their investigation into a report by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim, who claims he was forced to sign a Letter of Proclamation against his will. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the matter is sensitive and needs thorough study, including Negeri Sembilan customs and protocol, as well as the Attorney-General's views. Ismail lodged a police report on 8 September to allow investigations to proceed.

MACC officer withdraws police report against Muhyiddin's lawyer
At the Kuala Lumpur High Court, MACC investigating officer Mazery Mohd Zaini withdrew a police report he had lodged against Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's lawyer, Amer Hamzah, during the Jana Wibawa trial. Four remanded five days over RM1.8m animal feed false claims
Four people, including an enforcement agency personnel, were remanded for five days by the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court over allegedly false documents in animal feed supply claims worth RM1.8 million. The suspects, aged 40 to 60, were detained after giving statements at the Kuala Lumpur MACC office, and the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

Muhyiddin's lawyer accuses MACC officer of intimidation over police report

MACC officer reports Muhyiddin's lawyer to police over document in Jana Wibawa trial
An MACC officer has lodged a police report claiming that lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad disclosed a classified document during Muhyiddin Yassin's corruption trial at the Kuala Lumpur High Court. The document is a recording of a conversation involving Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, a former Segambut Bersatu deputy division chief who has been mentioned in testimony over the Jana Wibawa programme. Seven fishermen missing off Pulau Ketam, first day of SAR called off
Seven men including a boat skipper are missing after leaving Jeti Sementa in Kapar to fish, last seen near Batuan Kencing at about 5.30pm yesterday. The first day of the search and rescue operation was suspended at 7pm and will resume tomorrow morning, with the boat and all seven men still not found.

MACC officer tells court no immunity deal with Azman in Muhyiddin trial

Former Buycar2u director charged with 71 counts of cheating RM4.7mil
A former director of a used-car trading company, Kee Cher Kian, 34, pleaded not guilty at three Sessions Courts in Kuala Lumpur to 71 cheating charges involving RM4.7 million. The charges relate to businessman Wong Yoong Jed and transactions at several bank branches in Kuala Lumpur between 5 July and 3 August 2022. The court set bail totalling RM215,000 with one surety and fixed mention for 16 October.

Police probe insider link in RM2.91 million robbery at Pavilion Embassy
Police are investigating whether an insider was involved in a group robbery that caused RM2.91 million in losses at a luxury condominium on Jalan Ampang on 7 September. Man stabbed in the back while working at Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market
A man in his 30s was stabbed in the back with a sharp metal object while working at the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market yesterday morning. He was taken to Selayang Hospital and is in stable condition, and police in Sentul are investigating the motive. A 47-second video of the injured man went viral on social media.

Former minister expected to be charged in KL Sessions Court tomorrow over TH RCI
A former minister is expected to face three charges under Section 403 of the Penal Code at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow, following MACC investigations prompted by the Tabung Haji RCI report. Four people have already been charged, including former TH chairman Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim. The High Court will also continue Muhyiddin Yassin's Jana Wibawa trial and rule on a student accused of murder.

Former judge assault: textile tycoon and another ordered to enter defence
The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court has ordered Gulati's Silk House owner Pavitar Singh Manjeet Singh and Nor Imran Nordin to enter their defence on charges of abetting grievous hurt against former judge Jagjit Singh Bant Singh. The screwdriver attack occurred near Solaris Dutamas on 19 Oct 2023 and is believed to have stemmed from a family dispute. Two other attackers were sentenced to seven years' jail after a prosecution appeal.

Police hunt mastermind behind RM2.9m armed robbery at Jalan Ampang condo
Police are still hunting the mastermind behind an armed robbery at a condominium in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, in which a Chinese national lost RM2.9 million. The Wangsa Maju district police chief said investigations are ongoing and 12 witnesses have been questioned under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code.

Court sets 15 trial days from July 26 for former Armed Forces chief
The Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur has fixed 15 days from July 26 next year for the trial of former Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, who faces four charges of abuse of position and criminal breach of trust involving RM3 million. The charges relate to alleged bribes and misuse of the Armed Forces Welfare Fund (TKAT) linked to Hari Raya parcel supply contracts in 2024. The court also set Oct 28 for further mention to monitor a representation the defence will submit to the Attorney General's Chambers.

Two killed in two-vehicle crash on Jalan Kuantan-Maran
Two men died in a crash involving a Honda Civic and a Toyota Hilux on Jalan Kuantan-Maran near Masjid Paya Bungor, Gambang. The victims were identified as Muhammad Daniel Haiqal Abdullah, 17, and Mohd Sharul Sufriyanto, 40. The bodies were sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan's forensic unit for post-mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Army officer murder case: chemical report due 13 October
The Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court has fixed 13 October for the chemical report in the case of Captain Jad Faid Arhan, 31, accused of killing Bangladeshi influencer Muzahid Millad, 22, in a crash on the Maju Expressway (MEX) on 23 April. The same date was set in a separate traffic court for two charges of driving under the influence that seriously injured an e-hailing driver and a woman passenger.

Thai cook held by JPJ for driving with expired road tax
A Thai cook was detained on Jalan Genting Kelang in Kuala Lumpur for driving a Mercedes with an expired motor vehicle licence. In the same Ops Luxury sweep, a Chinese driver was held on Jalan Stonor for having no competent driving licence. Both vehicles were seized at JPJ Kuala Lumpur for investigation.

Fire in Taman Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur kills mother and two sons
A fire at a double-storey house on Jalan Satria 7/5 in Taman Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur killed a 49-year-old woman and her two sons, aged 18 and 11. The Klang district police chief said there is no criminal element or foul play, and the bodies were sent to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for post-mortem. The Fire and Rescue Department is investigating the cause.

Selangor police seize RM31.53m in drugs, arrest 14
Selangor police broke up six drug syndicates in seven raids across KLIA, Segambut, Kajang and Sepang between 19 and 26 August. The RM31.53 million haul included 135.4 kg of cannabis buds and 117.54 kg of MDMA, with 14 people arrested.

Penang City Council mayor called as witness in Guan Eng corruption trial
Penang City Council mayor Datuk Rajendran P Anthony will be called as a prosecution witness in the corruption trial of former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng. The trial at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court concerns the Penang undersea tunnel and main roads project. The 38th prosecution witness, MACC investigating officer Zulhilmi Ramli, agreed that Beijing Urban Construction Group scored highest in the project's RFP documents.
