Thai cook held by JPJ for driving with expired road tax
A Thai cook was detained on Jalan Genting Kelang in Kuala Lumpur for driving a Mercedes with an expired motor vehicle licence. In the same Ops Luxury sweep, a Chinese driver was held on Jalan Stonor for having no competent driving licence. Both vehicles were seized at JPJ Kuala Lumpur for investigation.

UMNO assembly day three: Ahmad Zahid's policy speech in focus
The third day of UMNO's 2026 general assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur is expected to centre on the President's policy speech by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Zahid warns UMNO not to be fooled again in political cooperation
At the UMNO 2026 General Assembly at WTCKL, party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi warned delegates not to be 'bitten by the same snake' in political cooperation. Deputy President Mohamad Hasan said UMNO will not forget being played in Malay-Islamic unity efforts. A Kubang Pasu delegate added that any cooperation must be sincere and willing to compromise, including on seat allocation in PN-held states.

Jalinan noodle bar opens in TTDI with Malaysian fusion dishes
Jalinan, a new noodle bar in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, opened in June and serves reworked Malaysian classics such as Dry Laksa Ulam and Sea Prawn Sambal Goreng. Selangor overall champions of Para SUKMA 2026, Amirudin hopes athletes reach world title
The closing ceremony of Para SUKMA 2026 was held at the Selangor International Trade Centre (STIC), with Selangor emerging as overall champions for the first time since the games began in 1982. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he hopes national para athletes will go on to become world champions, and noted the age limit of under 40 for athletes. Selangor collected 93 golds, 55 silvers and 52 bronzes, followed by Sabah and Sarawak.

Natural History Museum and Aquaria KLCC launch Hidden Wonders of Malaysia campaign
The 'Hidden Wonders of Malaysia' campaign was launched today as a collaboration between the Department of Museums Malaysia through the Natural History Museum and Aquaria KLCC. The three-month exhibition combines preserved natural history specimens with live marine life to raise awareness of biodiversity conservation. It also supports preparations for Malaysia's first Natural History Museum.

7,887 join IHH Sky Race to conquer Merdeka 118 Tower
A total of 7,887 participants took part in The IHH Sky Race at Merdeka 118 Tower in Kuala Lumpur last weekend. Participants had to conquer 118 floors and 2,845 steps, including an eight-year-old child, an 81-year-old veteran climber and a disabled athlete from the United States.

Police question 12 witnesses over RM2.91 million Ampang condo armed robbery
Police have recorded statements from 12 witnesses in the armed gang robbery at Pavilion Embassy condominium in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, where RM2.91 million in cash, jewellery and luxury watches was stolen on Sept 7. Wangsa Maju police chief ACP Annas Sulaiman said investigators are still identifying suspects and are examining possible insider involvement given the condominium's strict security. The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code.

Fire in Taman Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur kills mother and two sons
A fire at a double-storey house on Jalan Satria 7/5 in Taman Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur killed a 49-year-old woman and her two sons, aged 18 and 11. The Klang district police chief said there is no criminal element or foul play, and the bodies were sent to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for post-mortem. The Fire and Rescue Department is investigating the cause.
