A former partner at a private investigation agency was fined $24,000 in Singapore on Sept 15 for conducting surveillance on a police officer without approval. Tan Hui Ting, 33, and the agency's managing director had accepted an assignment in 2021 to monitor an officer involved in an investigation concerning a client's father. The surveillance, which included tracking the officer at his home and workplace, stopped only when he noticed he was being followed in January 2022.

Safety operators keep watch as driverless shuttles run in Punggol
In Punggol, 24-year-old Sherman Seng works as a safety operator for Zig Driverless, a ComfortDelGro unit, monitoring autonomous shuttle rides that began in April. He and 12 other operators watch for vehicle errors, take manual control when needed and feed problems back to engineers. Seng trained three weeks in Guangzhou before operating the shuttles.

Grab to grow AV fleet to 50 vehicles, expand beyond Punggol
