  1. Fahmi: Sarawak electoral boundary review already under way, no date set

    Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the electoral boundary review process has already begun but gave no commitment on completing it before Sarawak's next election. He spoke to reporters in Kuching after visiting a Borneo Post photographer whose Kampung Tabuan Dayak home was damaged by an Aug 25 storm. The Election Commission says the review is at the fourth of 16 constitutional stages, with public display of draft boundaries open until Sept 30.

    A Borneo Post photographer in Kuching whose house was damaged by a storm on Aug 25 is among 845 recipients of Tabung Kasih@Hawana, which has disbursed RM729,300 since 2023. Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil visited the house in Kampung Tabuan Dayak and said Sarawak has received RM172,000 for 58 media practitioners.

  3. Two men arrested after testing positive for drugs in Bau

    Two men aged 25 to 29 were arrested beside Jalan Bau-Lundu in Bau, Sarawak, yesterday afternoon on suspicion of drug abuse. The Bau district police chief said both suspects were detained by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Bau district police headquarters and tested positive for drugs in initial urine screening. The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
