An MACC investigator told the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur that Consortium Zenith BUCG had more advantages than four other bidders for the Penang undersea tunnel and road projects. Under cross-examination in Lim Guan Eng's corruption trial, Zulhilmi Ramli disagreed with the defence that a 2011 Malaysia-China MoU did not guarantee the company the contract. The four other bidders were named in court.

Akmal: UMNO Youth reps who underperform will not be renominated
UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said elected representatives from the wing who underperform, put personal interests first or are hard to reach will not be renominated in the next general election. MRT Corp announced that Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah in George Town will have a 322-day traffic diversion from Sept 12, 2026 to July 31, 2027 for piling and structural works on the Mutiara Line LRT. Dang Wangi police seized 51.686kg of MDMA powder worth RM7.75 million in a raid on a condominium unit at Jalan Ceylon, Kuala Lumpur on 19 August. Five people were arrested, including two male and two female foreign nationals and one local man, and all suspects were charged in court on 2 September.
