1. Perhilitan tracks elephant hit by car near Kemaman

   Wildlife officers in Terengganu are closely monitoring an elephant injured when a car struck it near Kemaman. The elephant was crossing the Jerangau-Sabur road when the collision occurred, injuring three people including a married couple. The animal fled into a nearby palm oil estate.

   Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at three monitoring stations in Terengganu - Paka, Kuala Terengganu and Kemaman - simultaneously exceeded 150. Air quality expert Assoc Prof Azman Azid of UniSZA said the increase suggests possible regional pollutant transport and requires further analysis including hotspot data and the MyCMAQ model.

3. Two cars hit elephant on Jerangau-Jabor road, three injured

   Three people were slightly injured when a Perodua Ativa struck an elephant crossing at KM160 of Jalan Jerangau-Jabor near Ladang Jabor, Kemaman, last night. A Perodua Myvi behind also hit the Ativa's rear. Two victims were treated at Kemaman Hospital's Green Zone and police are investigating.
