A 26-year-old lorry attendant has been remanded for three days by the Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court to assist investigations into allegations he peeped at his 12-year-old stepdaughter while she was showering. Kluang fire kills army veteran's wife and two sons at Taman Titiwangsa
A fire at a house in Taman Titiwangsa, Kluang, killed a 49-year-old woman and her two sons, aged 18 and 11, on Tuesday night. Two trailer lorries collide at Taman Cantik junction in Kulai, drivers injured
Two trailer lorries collided at the Taman Cantik traffic light junction in Kulai at about 10.05am today, leaving concrete culvert pipe blocks scattered across the road. The 47-year-old driver of the loaded lorry was trapped and suffered leg and knee injuries, while the 49-year-old driver of the empty lorry was lightly hurt. Firefighters freed the trapped man and both were taken to hospital; clearing work was still ongoing.

Kluang hospital short of staff as beds and specialist services grow
Enche' Besar Hajjah Kalsom Hospital in Kluang is facing a manpower shortage as its bed capacity and specialist services expand to serve more than 330,000 residents. Johor health committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said the hospital has 396 beds, with 38 more expected once Ward 10B upgrading is completed by end-September, and that Johor will raise the staffing shortfall with the health ministry.

Three dead including a child in Kluang terrace house fire
Three people, including a young boy, died after being trapped in a fire that gutted a two-storey terrace house in Taman Titiwangsa, Kluang, last night. The Kluang fire station received the emergency call at 10.44pm and sent 14 personnel to the scene. The house was about 50 per cent destroyed and the victims have not yet been identified.

Batu Pahat court raises drunk driver's bail to RM30,000 after six no-shows
