Chef dies after bicycle wheel caught in drain cover gap in Bukit Beruang
A 36-year-old chef, Ahmad Shasli Hassan, died after his bicycle's front wheel caught in the gap of an iron drain cover in Bukit Beruang, Melaka, causing him to fall and suffer severe head and facial injuries. The incident occurred at about 7.10pm on Monday, September 14; he was taken to Melaka Hospital and died at about 9pm, confirmed by the Melaka Tengah district police chief.

Mechanic pleads not guilty to abducting another man's wife at Malim police station

Dance teacher in Melaka remanded five days over sexual assault of two students
A 20-year-old dance teacher in Melaka has been remanded for five days to assist investigations into the physical sexual assault of two teenage boys who were also his students. The first case is believed to have occurred since 4 September at the suspect's home and the Tasik 1 Krubong area, while the second involves a 15-year-old victim who knew the suspect as a dance coach. Police are investigating under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

Lorry driver fined RM2,500 for keeping ex-girlfriend's explicit videos

Melaka High Court upholds JPJ officer's corruption conviction over RM3,600 bribes
The Melaka High Court has upheld the conviction of former JPJ enforcement officer Rafi Abd Rahman on six corruption charges involving RM3,600 in bribes paid to a colleague. Rafi, who was a chief motor vehicle inspector at JPJ's Bukit Katil division, had his 10-month jail sentence and RM60,000 in fines affirmed after Judicial Commissioner K Raja Segaran dismissed his appeal.
