A Honda Civic driver tested positive for four types of drugs after crashing into three vehicles at a traffic light junction on Jalan Kampung Bandar Dalam, Kuala Lumpur, at about 3.50pm yesterday. No injuries were reported and the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim chaired the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63) meeting in Kota Kinabalu on 11 September, discussing special grants, border security, Borneonisation and increasing parliamentary seats for Sabah and Sarawak. The meeting took place as political tensions rose in Peninsular Malaysia following a sharp speech by the UMNO president in Kuala Lumpur.

CJ: Syed Ahmad Idid's pension is PSD's call, not judiciary's
In Putrajaya, Chief Justice Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh said the pension issue of former High Court judge Datuk Syed Ahmad Idid Syed Abdullah falls under the Public Service Department, not the judiciary. Syed Ahmad Idid has said he was forced to resign in 1996 after writing a letter alleging corruption in the judiciary, which cost him his pension.

Immigration detains 173 foreigners at Sepang hangar project site
Malaysian Immigration detained 173 foreign workers during a raid on an aircraft hangar construction site in Sepang today. The operation involved 88 officers who checked 261 individuals, and the employer was found to have used work permits registered to other companies. All detainees were sent to the KLIA Immigration Detention Depot for investigation.

AGC: Decision to drop Muhyiddin charges based on professional assessment
The Attorney General's Chambers said the decision not to pursue four charges against Muhyiddin Yassin over Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd was based on a professional assessment of evidence and the case's chances. The Kuala Lumpur High Court acquitted and discharged the Bersatu president of one abuse of power charge and three money laundering charges involving RM200 million. Three other charges under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act 2009 will proceed.

AGC: dropping four Muhyiddin charges avoided risk to other cases
The Attorney-General's Chambers said in a statement that proceeding with one predicate offence and three money laundering charges against Muhyiddin Yassin could have undermined its strategy for the other charges he still faces. The Kuala Lumpur High Court acquitted Muhyiddin after the prosecution applied for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal without giving a specific reason. DAP's Gobind Singh Deo had called for the attorney-general to explain the decision.

KPJ drops suit against seven ex-directors over Lablink stake sale, four remain
KPJ Healthcare has discontinued its legal action against seven of 11 former directors over the RM119.92 million sale of a 49% stake in Lablink in 2018. The suit continues against former chairman Datuk Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim and three others. The case was filed in January 2024 and is before the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

Immigration raids 11 premises in Chan Sow Lin, 11 Bangladeshis held over fake e-PLKS
Malaysian Immigration officers raided 11 premises in the Jalan Chan Sow Lin commercial area of Kuala Lumpur on Monday, detaining 11 Bangladeshi nationals over a suspected fake e-PLKS operation. Investigators say the premises offered fake e-Temporary Employment Visit Pass documents for about RM150 each and forged police reports for about RM70. A further 19 foreign nationals were detained in checks at the same location and sent to the Putrajaya Immigration Depot.
