Malaysia's Maritime Enforcement Agency detained 33 undocumented Indonesian migrants, including a boat skipper, after intercepting their unregistered boat off Port Dickson. All were taken to the Melaka and Negeri Sembilan Maritime headquarters jetty for investigation under immigration and anti-trafficking laws.

UPM overall champions of SUKIPT 2026, Sultan of Selangor congratulates
Universiti Putra Malaysia won the overall title at SUKIPT 2026 with 35 gold, 20 silver and 15 bronze medals, ahead of UiTM and hosts Universiti Malaya. The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, as UPM Chancellor, congratulated the contingent. BAM open to Zii Jia training with existing players, says Tengku Zafrul
BAM president Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the association's doors are open to Lee Zii Jia to train with existing players. 50 undocumented migrants deported to Indonesia via KLIA
A total of 50 undocumented migrants held at the Semenyih Detention Depot were deported to Indonesia on two flights from KLIA yesterday. Their airfare was funded by the Indonesian government, with 16 detainees flying to Jakarta and the rest to Medan.

Kenyalang Smart City (KSC) in Senadin, Miri, is seeking Norwegian involvement in its RM10.5 billion, 548-acre smart-city development. Imasa Dinasti Sdn Bhd chairman Ar. Teo Ah Khing met Norwegian Ambassador to Malaysia and Brunei Marianne Fosland at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to discuss cooperation in technology, sustainability and regional connectivity. The move follows a July Memorandum of Understanding with Muara Port Company to link KSC with Muara Port in Brunei.

Kajang police hunt two men who fled check and rammed MPV
Police in Kajang are tracking two men who fled after being stopped for inspection by an MPV patrol unit on Jalan Semenyih near the Kajang Prima traffic lights yesterday afternoon. The green Proton Wira hit a Perodua Ativa before ramming the police MPV, damaging its front right door, but no one was injured. The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code and police are asking the public to come forward with information.

Former judge assault: textile tycoon and another ordered to enter defence
The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court has ordered Gulati's Silk House owner Pavitar Singh Manjeet Singh and Nor Imran Nordin to enter their defence on charges of abetting grievous hurt against former judge Jagjit Singh Bant Singh. The screwdriver attack occurred near Solaris Dutamas on 19 Oct 2023 and is believed to have stemmed from a family dispute. Two other attackers were sentenced to seven years' jail after a prosecution appeal.

MAIS brings Bidayuh customs to diaspora in Peninsular Malaysia
The Sarawak Native Customs Council (MAIS) held an outreach programme to bring the Bidayuh Adat 1994 closer to Bidayuh communities outside Sarawak. The event at Hotel Melia on Saturday (Sept 12) was co-organised with the Klang Valley branch of the Dayak Bidayuh National Association and drew 50 participants. Selangor records RM70bil approved investment as of June, eyes RM80bil target
Selangor recorded RM70 billion in approved investment value as of June this year, with services and manufacturing the biggest contributors. State investment, trade and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the state is confident of hitting its RM80 billion target within months. Universiti Malaya researchers turn prawn shells into biodegradable plastic film
Researchers at Universiti Malaya's Faculty of Engineering have converted discarded prawn shells into chitosan, a natural biopolymer, and used it with starch to produce biodegradable plastic films. In soil burial tests, the films began visibly degrading after three weeks and had substantially broken down by the fourth. The work links two Malaysian waste problems - food waste and plastic waste - but the material is still far from commercial use.

Helicopter crash pilot's remains expected to be buried in Senawang tomorrow
The remains of Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, the pilot killed in the Perkhidmatan Doktor Udara (FDS) helicopter crash at Long Lellang, Sarawak, are expected to be buried in Senawang tomorrow. Fence wall under construction collapses in Taman Jayamas, three cars damaged
In Taman Jayamas, Seremban, a house fence wall under construction collapsed at about 3am during heavy rain, crushing three neighbours' cars parked outside the house. The vehicles involved were a Toyota Vios, a Perodua Viva and a Proton Persona, and no injuries were reported. The contractor has been informed and will rebuild the collapsed wall.

Police are still hunting the mastermind behind an armed robbery at a condominium in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, in which a Chinese national lost RM2.9 million. The Wangsa Maju district police chief said investigations are ongoing and 12 witnesses have been questioned under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code.

RM350,000 to upgrade roads and lifts at Bandar Tasik Selatan flats
The government has allocated RM350,000 to upgrade road structures at the Bandar Tasik Selatan low-cost flats in Kuala Lumpur under the 2026 Projek Mesra Rakyat initiative. A 16-year-old Malaysian Tamil girl, Mangala Kali Vigneswaran, has been reported missing from her home in Kelana Jaya, Selangor. She was last seen at 5.45am on September 11 in her school pinafore, and Petaling Jaya police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Malayan tapir dies after being hit by car near Terachi
A 250kg male Malayan tapir was struck by a car at Km24 of Jalan Seremban-Kuala Pilah near the Terachi police station late last night. It suffered a broken front leg and internal injuries, and was confirmed dead this morning. The carcass was taken to the Jempol Perhilitan office for disposal under standard procedures.
