American Jessie Irvine won both the women's and mixed doubles titles at the Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup at The Hood in Kuala Lumpur. She and Alix Truong beat the Australian pair Sahra Dennehy and Danni-elle Townsend in the women's final, then Irvine partnered Bolivia's Gabriel Tardio to take the mixed doubles against Townsend and Joey Wild.

Father recalls Captain Zainol Afiq's service in rural Sarawak
The body of Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, 31, was buried at the Forest Height Islamic Cemetery in Senawang, Seremban this evening. His father, Bee Sham Ahmad, said his son was deeply loved by people in rural Sarawak for his commitment to bringing health services to them through the Air Doctor Service. The family is leaving the investigation into the helicopter crash to the authorities.

Jamil Khir to be charged in KL Sessions Court tomorrow
Former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow over the Tabung Haji RCI report. The MACC had earlier detained and remanded him, and recommended three charges under Section 403 of the Penal Code.

Parliament open day draws 11,280 visitors, beating target
A two-day Parliament open day that began yesterday drew 11,280 visitors, above the initial target of 10,000. Dewan Negara president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah said it was the programme's best showing since it began in 2023. The event aims to bring Parliament closer to the people by letting the public see the proceedings inside the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara.

Over 50 PPR Taman Mulia residents join gotong-royong to foster unity
A Gotong-Royong Perpaduan programme at PPR Taman Mulia in Kuala Lumpur brought together more than 50 residents to paint road shoulders, collect rubbish and spruce up the housing area. Man stabbed in the back while working at Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market
A man in his 30s was stabbed in the back with a sharp metal object while working at the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market yesterday morning. He was taken to Selayang Hospital and is in stable condition, and police in Sentul are investigating the motive. A 47-second video of the injured man went viral on social media.

472 foreigners detained in Immigration raid at Lebuh Pudu
Kuala Lumpur Immigration detained 472 foreign nationals in an integrated enforcement operation at Lebuh Pudu, Kuala Lumpur today. About 2,500 foreigners were checked in the operation that began around 11am, involving nationals from Bangladesh, Myanmar, the Philippines, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, China, Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia. Those detained will be placed at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for further investigation.

1,600 join Oxyenergy Prima Merdeka Run 2026 at Balai Berita Bangsar
About 1,600 participants took part in the Oxyenergy Prima Merdeka Run 2026 organised by Kelab Media Prima at Balai Berita Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, today. The 3.5km and 5.5km runs drew participants of all ages including people with disabilities, and were attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari. Adam Naufal Amril, 15, of SMK Manjalara, Kepong, was the first to cross the finish line in the 5.5km category with a time of 20 minutes.

Immigration raid at Lebuh Pudu nets 472 undocumented foreigners
An integrated operation at Lebuh Pudu in Kuala Lumpur today detained 472 foreigners suspected of lacking valid documents after about 2,500 people were checked. The raid also uncovered premises believed to be a prostitution centre and a clinic run by a fake doctor. All those detained were taken to the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for further action.

Former minister expected to be charged in KL Sessions Court tomorrow over TH RCI
A former minister is expected to face three charges under Section 403 of the Penal Code at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow, following MACC investigations prompted by the Tabung Haji RCI report. Four people have already been charged, including former TH chairman Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim. The High Court will also continue Muhyiddin Yassin's Jana Wibawa trial and rule on a student accused of murder.

A woman in her 60s claims she was misled by a developer into buying two commercial shop lots in Damansara in 2010 that were actually Bumiputera-quota units. The status only surfaced when she tried to sell the premises, and she now faces a transfer penalty to the Selangor state government. Selangor police detained 146 people aged 16 to 25 and seized 50 motorcycles in an integrated operation against road bullies at the Bukit Raja Toll Plaza on the NKVE early Saturday. Police probe death of 15-year-old girl who fell from Putrajaya apartment
A 15-year-old girl died after falling from a high floor of an apartment in Precinct 5, Putrajaya, on Friday night. Police received a call at 10.33pm and the girl was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer from Putrajaya Hospital. The case is classified as sudden death and an autopsy will be conducted today.
