Furniture warehouse in Port Klang catches fire, 70% damaged
A two-storey furniture storage warehouse on Jalan Perusahaan 22, Kampung Idaman, Port Klang, caught fire this afternoon. About 70 per cent of the building was affected and a Perodua Viva was 20 per cent damaged, but no casualties were reported. The fire was brought under control at 5.31pm and the cause is under investigation.

Body of missing fisherman found in Hutan Melintang waters
The body of a fisherman who went missing was found floating in the waters off Hutan Melintang, Perak, and identified as Mohd Sharil Abd Rahman, 43. The search and rescue operation for two other missing victims continues, involving PDRM, APMM, JBPM and APM.

Three firms ordered to pay RM730,000 over negligence in Range Rover theft
The Sessions Court in Klang ordered a logistics company and two warehouse operators to pay RM730,000 to Fadzil Aziz Motor Sdn Bhd after a Range Rover was stolen from a warehouse in Westports, Pulau Indah. Judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza found the three defendants negligent for leaving the vehicle unlocked with keys inside and the warehouse doors open. The court also rejected QBE Insurance's argument that its policy did not cover the theft because there was evidence the fence was cut.

Seven fishermen missing off Pulau Ketam, first day of SAR called off
Seven men including a boat skipper are missing after leaving Jeti Sementa in Kapar to fish, last seen near Batuan Kencing at about 5.30pm yesterday. The first day of the search and rescue operation was suspended at 7pm and will resume tomorrow morning, with the boat and all seven men still not found.

Seven anglers missing near Pulau Ketam, Malaysia Maritime launches search
Seven anglers including a boat skipper were reported missing after leaving Jeti Sementa in Klang early yesterday morning. Malaysia Maritime Selangor activated a search and rescue operation with police and fire department assistance to look for them in the waters of One Fathom Bank near Pulau Ketam.

Selangor records RM70bil approved investment as of June, eyes RM80bil target
Selangor recorded RM70 billion in approved investment value as of June this year, with services and manufacturing the biggest contributors. State investment, trade and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han said the state is confident of hitting its RM80 billion target within months. 365 foreigners charged this year for MyKad, birth certificate misuse
A total of 365 foreigners have been charged in court for offences related to the misuse of MyKad and birth certificates in the first eight months of this year. The National Registration Department's enforcement director said the charges resulted from 738 operations nationwide, with most of those detained being Indonesian and Filipino nationals. Immigration detains 197 undocumented workers in raids on two Port Klang industrial areas
Selangor's Immigration Department detained 197 undocumented foreign workers during raids on a motorcycle battery factory and a warehouse in Port Klang. The operation, involving 62 officers from various agencies, targeted premises in the Pulau Indah and Bandar Sultan Suleiman industrial areas. All those detained were placed at the Semenyih Immigration Depot for further investigation.

197 foreigners arrested in Selangor factory raid for lacking valid work permits
