Bukit Aman: Drug lab intelligence takes months to avoid premature raids
Bukit Aman's narcotics chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said intelligence work to uncover illegal drug labs can take months or up to a year to map the whole syndicate before raids are carried out. He said acting too early only nets one or two people without finding the actual lab. He was commenting on an operation in Puncak Alam, Selangor, that uncovered a drug lab and seized drugs worth an estimated RM2.4 billion, in which a suspect was shot dead.

PUSPEN Bachok client info helps police bust drug syndicates
Police and AADK are using information from clients at the Bachok Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (PUSPEN) to help dismantle drug syndicates. Bukit Aman Narcotics CID director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the information sharing helps track syndicate members and has led to several raids and arrests. Bukit Aman's narcotics chief said drug syndicates flying to Europe often use ordinary members of the public as mules, mainly carrying cannabis flowers. He spoke after a visit to the Bachok Narcotics Rehabilitation Centre in Kelantan, and said police had also recorded arrests at KLIA and Sultan Azlan Shah Airport in Ipoh.
