Seven fishermen missing off Pulau Ketam, first day of SAR called off
Seven men including a boat skipper are missing after leaving Jeti Sementa in Kapar to fish, last seen near Batuan Kencing at about 5.30pm yesterday. The first day of the search and rescue operation was suspended at 7pm and will resume tomorrow morning, with the boat and all seven men still not found.

MACC officer tells court no immunity deal with Azman in Muhyiddin trial

Vietnamese couple arrested in Ampang for illegal immigration services
A Vietnamese husband and wife were arrested in a raid at a premises on Jalan Bemban, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur for allegedly offering illegal immigration services to fellow Vietnamese, charging up to RM12,000 per client. The Immigration Department conducted the raid after a month of intelligence gathering, seizing various documents and equipment. Bandar Utama school stabbing: 15-year-old boy freed after mental disorder defence
A 15-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing a 16-year-old schoolgirl in Bandar Utama last year has been acquitted of murder by the Shah Alam High Court on grounds of mental disorder. The court accepted the defence under Section 84 of the Penal Code that he was temporarily insane at the time. He will receive medication and counselling at a mental hospital until medical officers assess him fit to rejoin society.

Former Buycar2u director charged with 71 counts of cheating RM4.7mil
A former director of a used-car trading company, Kee Cher Kian, 34, pleaded not guilty at three Sessions Courts in Kuala Lumpur to 71 cheating charges involving RM4.7 million. The charges relate to businessman Wong Yoong Jed and transactions at several bank branches in Kuala Lumpur between 5 July and 3 August 2022. The court set bail totalling RM215,000 with one surety and fixed mention for 16 October.

Teen acquitted of schoolmate's murder after court finds him insane
The High Court in Shah Alam acquitted a 15-year-old boy of murdering his 16-year-old schoolmate at a secondary school in Bandar Utama last year, ruling he was of unsound mind at the time. Man stabbed in the back while working at Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market
A man in his 30s was stabbed in the back with a sharp metal object while working at the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market yesterday morning. He was taken to Selayang Hospital and is in stable condition, and police in Sentul are investigating the motive. A 47-second video of the injured man went viral on social media.

472 foreigners detained in Immigration raid at Lebuh Pudu
Kuala Lumpur Immigration detained 472 foreign nationals in an integrated enforcement operation at Lebuh Pudu, Kuala Lumpur today. About 2,500 foreigners were checked in the operation that began around 11am, involving nationals from Bangladesh, Myanmar, the Philippines, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, China, Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia. Those detained will be placed at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for further investigation.

Immigration raid at Lebuh Pudu nets 472 undocumented foreigners
An integrated operation at Lebuh Pudu in Kuala Lumpur today detained 472 foreigners suspected of lacking valid documents after about 2,500 people were checked. The raid also uncovered premises believed to be a prostitution centre and a clinic run by a fake doctor. All those detained were taken to the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for further action.

Former judge assault: textile tycoon and another ordered to enter defence
The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court has ordered Gulati's Silk House owner Pavitar Singh Manjeet Singh and Nor Imran Nordin to enter their defence on charges of abetting grievous hurt against former judge Jagjit Singh Bant Singh. The screwdriver attack occurred near Solaris Dutamas on 19 Oct 2023 and is believed to have stemmed from a family dispute. Two other attackers were sentenced to seven years' jail after a prosecution appeal.

Court sets 15 trial days from July 26 for former Armed Forces chief

Two killed in two-vehicle crash on Jalan Kuantan-Maran
Two men died in a crash involving a Honda Civic and a Toyota Hilux on Jalan Kuantan-Maran near Masjid Paya Bungor, Gambang. The victims were identified as Muhammad Daniel Haiqal Abdullah, 17, and Mohd Sharul Sufriyanto, 40. The bodies were sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan's forensic unit for post-mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Army officer murder case: chemical report due 13 October

Thai cook held by JPJ for driving with expired road tax
