Man dies while leading students on hike in Ulu Tamu Forest Reserve
A 60-year-old man died while leading a group of Form Six students on a hike in the Ulu Tamu Forest Reserve in Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor. He collapsed and was pronounced dead by the Health Ministry, and firemen brought his body down and handed it to police.

Lawyer Haniff Khatri's house among three damaged in Rawang fire
Three two-storey terrace houses in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, were damaged in an early morning fire today, including the home of lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said the blaze, reported at 3.06am, was brought under control by 4.08am and no casualties were reported. A Perodua Axia was also 90 per cent destroyed.

Kulim: 4 children die after falling into open drain while playing football
Four children aged 8 to 12 died after falling into an open drain at Taman Desa Kayangan in Kulim, Kedah. They were playing football when the ball went into the drain and they fell in while trying to retrieve it. Two died at the scene and two died on the way to Kulim Hospital; the bodies were sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for post-mortem.

Police seek next-of-kin of unidentified man found in KLIA2 aircraft wheel bay
KLIA district police are asking the public and relatives of anyone missing since 19 August 2026 to come forward to help identify a man's body found in an aircraft wheel storage bay at Terminal 2 of KLIA (KLIA2). The body, found on the morning of 27 August after the plane landed from Tokyo, had no identification documents and the case is being investigated as a sudden death.

Three firms ordered to pay RM730,000 over negligence in Range Rover theft
The Sessions Court in Klang ordered a logistics company and two warehouse operators to pay RM730,000 to Fadzil Aziz Motor Sdn Bhd after a Range Rover was stolen from a warehouse in Westports, Pulau Indah. Judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza found the three defendants negligent for leaving the vehicle unlocked with keys inside and the warehouse doors open. The court also rejected QBE Insurance's argument that its policy did not cover the theft because there was evidence the fence was cut.

MACC officer reports Muhyiddin's lawyer to police over document in Jana Wibawa trial
An MACC officer has lodged a police report claiming that lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad disclosed a classified document during Muhyiddin Yassin's corruption trial at the Kuala Lumpur High Court. The document is a recording of a conversation involving Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, a former Segambut Bersatu deputy division chief who has been mentioned in testimony over the Jana Wibawa programme. Police are investigating the alleged disclosure.

Three held over attempted cable theft at Jalan Reko, Kajang
Police arrested three men, aged 25 to 46, over an attempted cable theft near a traffic light junction along Jalan Reko in Kajang at about 4am today. Two suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and all three will be brought to the Kajang Court tomorrow for a remand application.

Seven fishermen missing off Pulau Ketam, first day of SAR called off
Seven men including a boat skipper are missing after leaving Jeti Sementa in Kapar to fish, last seen near Batuan Kencing at about 5.30pm yesterday. The first day of the search and rescue operation was suspended at 7pm and will resume tomorrow morning, with the boat and all seven men still not found.

MACC officer tells court no immunity deal with Azman in Muhyiddin trial

Box with toy blocks destroyed by bomb squad in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling

Mother of stabbed student vows to keep seeking justice after accused acquitted

Classroom at SK Setia Alam destroyed in fire
A classroom at Sekolah Kebangsaan Setia Alam on Persiaran Setia Prima in Shah Alam caught fire this afternoon. Firefighters received the emergency call at 4.20pm and found the classroom 100 per cent burnt, though the flames were out before the Bukit Jelutong fire station crew arrived. No injuries were reported and investigators are looking into the cause.

Vietnamese couple arrested in Ampang for illegal immigration services
A Vietnamese husband and wife were arrested in a raid at a premises on Jalan Bemban, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur for allegedly offering illegal immigration services to fellow Vietnamese, charging up to RM12,000 per client. The Immigration Department conducted the raid after a month of intelligence gathering, seizing various documents and equipment. All three suspects were taken to the Putrajaya Immigration Office for further investigation.

Bandar Utama school stabbing: 15-year-old boy freed after mental disorder defence
A 15-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing a 16-year-old schoolgirl in Bandar Utama last year has been acquitted of murder by the Shah Alam High Court on grounds of mental disorder. The court accepted the defence under Section 84 of the Penal Code that he was temporarily insane at the time. He will receive medication and counselling at a mental hospital until medical officers assess him fit to rejoin society.

Former Buycar2u director charged with 71 counts of cheating RM4.7mil
A former director of a used-car trading company, Kee Cher Kian, 34, pleaded not guilty at three Sessions Courts in Kuala Lumpur to 71 cheating charges involving RM4.7 million. The charges relate to businessman Wong Yoong Jed and transactions at several bank branches in Kuala Lumpur between 5 July and 3 August 2022. The court set bail totalling RM215,000 with one surety and fixed mention for 16 October.

Teen acquitted of schoolmate's murder after court finds him insane

Former minister Jamil Khir charged over RM860.3m Tabung Haji assets
In Kuala Lumpur, former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom was charged in the Sessions Court with three counts of dishonestly transferring over RM860.3 million in Tabung Haji assets. MIROS proposes regular health checks for elderly drivers

Police: Viral Cyberjaya barrier push was done with Tamarind Square management's permission
A traffic policeman was filmed pushing open an automatic barrier at Tamarind Square in Cyberjaya while escorting the official convoy of Datuk Undang Luak Johol. Sepang police chief Norhizam Bahaman said the officer acted after the barrier failed to open and the premises management told him to push it manually, then restore it afterwards. Man stabbed in the back while working at Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market
A man in his 30s was stabbed in the back with a sharp metal object while working at the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market yesterday morning. He was taken to Selayang Hospital and is in stable condition, and police in Sentul are investigating the motive. A 47-second video of the injured man went viral on social media.
