Awie concert organiser apologises over seating and goodie bag issues
The organiser of the Awie Rock King - Last Man Standing concert, Bombbay Legend Worldwide, apologised for seating confusion affecting CAT 5, CAT 9 and CAT 10 ticket holders at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, last Saturday. The organiser also apologised to CAT 9 and CAT 10 ticket holders who did not receive their goodie bags, and will contact them by e-mail to arrange delivery.

Kelana Jaya LRT signalling fault forces manual operation between Subang Alam and Putra Heights
A signalling system disruption on the Kelana Jaya LRT line has forced trains to run manually between Subang Alam and Putra Heights, causing slower journeys and longer waits. Rapid KL advised passengers to expect delays and to seek help from station officers or auxiliary police, but gave no timeframe for normal service to resume.

Trevor Noah adds second Kuala Lumpur show after first sells out
Trevor Noah will play a second show at Idea Live Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 10 November 2026 after his first night on 9 November sold out. Tickets for the added date go on sale on 15 September 2026 at 1pm. It is his first-ever appearance in Malaysia, presented by LOL Asia and BOHM.

The visit came after Cik Pia expressed her wish to meet on Threads, and Cik B also brought gifts and spent time with other patients and nurses.

Court orders bungalow on Lorong Raja Uda 1 sold within 12 months
The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered the sale of a bungalow on Lorong Raja Uda 1, near Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, within 12 months to resolve a 15-year dispute between three siblings. Judicial Commissioner Arziah Apandi found their relationship irreparably broken and said the sale was necessary because the eldest brother held only a one-third beneficial share while two-thirds was held in trust for his two sisters.

Man dies while leading students on hike in Ulu Tamu Forest Reserve
A 60-year-old man died while leading a group of Form Six students on a hike in the Ulu Tamu Forest Reserve in Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor. He collapsed and was pronounced dead by the Health Ministry, and firemen brought his body down and handed it to police.

The Labs at BBCC launches Malaysian artist series for Merdeka and Malaysia Day
The Labs at Bukit Bintang City Centre, Kuala Lumpur has launched an artist series featuring six Malaysian creative talents for the Merdeka and Malaysia Day season. Running from Sept 12, 2026 to January 2027, the programme includes physical installations, immersive digital experiences, murals and merchandise.

1Razak Mansion residents turn abandoned Salak South plot into 'Food Forest'
Residents of 1Razak Mansion in Salak South, Kuala Lumpur have spent eight months turning a 560-square-foot abandoned plot behind Block B into a 'Food Forest' of more than 80 plant, vegetable and herb species. The project, involving 60 residents and led by social entrepreneur Dr Billy Tang, has become a gathering spot for gardening, cooking and neighbourly contact, and also supports recycling, composting and rehabilitation of Sungai Kerayong.

Fiza Sabjahan delays plan to leave Wanita Hari Ini
Wanita Hari Ini (WHI) host and executive producer Fiza Sabjahan has revealed she had planned to step down from the TV3 programme this year. The plan was postponed because viewers and sponsors still want her, and she is needed to mentor new hosts. Rela member dies in three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik; three flee
A Rela member riding a motorcycle was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik in Bentong at about 7.30am yesterday. The three occupants of a Myvi abandoned the car and fled into a nearby oil palm plantation, and police have launched a manhunt. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

UPSI expands Kadazandusun, Iban and Semai as degree majors
Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Tanjong Malim, Perak, became the first Malaysian higher education institution to offer tertiary programmes in Kadazandusun and Iban in 2010, and in 2024 expanded these plus Semai into majors under its Bachelor of Education. Lecturers Julita Norjietta Taisin and Saripah Anak Banseng say a shortage of trained teachers and dwindling daily use threaten the languages, and that more learning materials and digital content are needed.

Zizan Razak admitted he was disappointed his role in the film Terbang was only a mechanic rather than a lead racer. After reading the script, he realised the Chiu Keng Guan film tells the story of national rally legend Karamjit Singh, and he accepted it as an honour. Fans complain over tickets and seating at Awie's Stadium Merdeka concert
Fans of the Awie Rock King - Last Man Standing 2026 concert at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, last Saturday aired complaints on social media about numbered seats not being given as bought and ticket packages not delivered. iLasso Tickets Sdn Bhd said it was only appointed as ticketing partner, while seating management, event operations and package delivery were the organiser's responsibility. It asked affected customers to file complaints directly with the official organiser.

MACC officer reports Muhyiddin's lawyer to police over document in Jana Wibawa trial
An MACC officer has lodged a police report claiming that lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad disclosed a classified document during Muhyiddin Yassin's corruption trial at the Kuala Lumpur High Court. The document is a recording of a conversation involving Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, a former Segambut Bersatu deputy division chief who has been mentioned in testimony over the Jana Wibawa programme. Police are investigating the alleged disclosure.

Zambry urges POLYCC to build AI culture on campus
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir called on polytechnic and community college leaders to embed artificial intelligence into campus culture. He said AI is not just about using apps but about working faster and producing job-ready graduates. 25 Shah Alam students compete in NST junior journalist contest
Twenty-five students from four Shah Alam secondary schools took part in the inaugural New Straits Times Heard The News Junior Journalists Challenge. Shrilaxmi Harenath Rao of SMK Bukit Jelutong won, with Sanjanaah Mages Varan and Qaseh Nazatul Nabila Mohd Ridzuan of SMK TTDI Jaya second and third. The event, held for NST's 181st anniversary, was supported by the Petaling Perdana Education Office and sponsored by Nestle.

Three held over attempted cable theft at Jalan Reko, Kajang
Police arrested three men, aged 25 to 46, over an attempted cable theft near a traffic light junction along Jalan Reko in Kajang at about 4am today. Two suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and all three will be brought to the Kajang Court tomorrow for a remand application.

Seven fishermen missing off Pulau Ketam, first day of SAR called off
Seven men including a boat skipper are missing after leaving Jeti Sementa in Kapar to fish, last seen near Batuan Kencing at about 5.30pm yesterday. The first day of the search and rescue operation was suspended at 7pm and will resume tomorrow morning, with the boat and all seven men still not found.

MACC officer tells court no immunity deal with Azman in Muhyiddin trial
An MACC senior assistant commissioner told the Kuala Lumpur High Court that businessman Datuk Seri Azman Yusoff was not given special treatment or immunity in exchange for testifying against Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Mazery Mohd Zaini, the 29th prosecution witness, denied under cross-examination that a deal existed, though he confirmed Azman's companies received RM9.35 million from Jana Wibawa contractors.
