Three family members died when a double-storey terrace house in Taman Titiwangsa, Kluang, caught fire last night. Police say initial investigations found no criminal element, and the cause is still being probed by the Fire and Rescue Department. Lorry driver fined RM30,000 for obscene WhatsApp messages to ex-wife's husband
A 50-year-old lorry driver was fined RM30,000 by the Sessions Court in Seremban after pleading guilty to five charges of sending obscene pictures and videos via WhatsApp to his ex-wife's current husband in March 2023. Mohd Suhaimi Yusof was also given a two-month jail term for each charge if he fails to pay the fine. He was charged under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Police arrest man carrying parang while begging in Taman Pekan Baru
A 44-year-old local man was arrested after he was believed to have been begging while carrying a parang around Taman Pekan Baru, Sungai Petani. The suspect, a homeless man from Bakar Kapor, was traced after a video of the incident went viral and alarmed residents. The Kuala Muda district police chief said no weapon was found on the suspect during the arrest.
