UMS offers 6,171 undergraduate places for 2026/2027 session

A total of 5,251 students registered at the Kota Kinabalu campus, 698 at the Labuan international campus and 222 at the Sandakan campus. The intake includes 3,380 B40 students, 14 disabled students, eight Orang Asli, 15 athletes and 215 international students from 12 countries.

Marine police seize RM2.08m diesel, arrest two in Sandakan jetty raid
Marine police in Sandakan detained two men aged 25 and 28 during a raid at a jetty on Wednesday, catching them transferring subsidised diesel from a steel cargo vessel into a tanker lorry. Police seized the vessel, the lorry, about 28,000 litres of diesel and related equipment worth an estimated RM2,082,760. The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Beluran APM captures python found in wardrobe at Kampung Kolapis Darat home

Sabah study: Sunda clouded leopards need intact forests to survive
A new study in Sabah's Lower Kinabatangan floodplain found that Sunda clouded leopards depend almost exclusively on intact forests for survival, despite being able to cross oil palm plantations. High fertilizer costs squeeze oil palm smallholders in Sabah
Oil palm smallholders in Kampung Kasih Sayang, Bukit Garam, Kinabatangan, Sabah, are under pressure from persistently high fertilizer prices, which have risen from RM55 for a 50kg bag to RM120 for a 60kg bag. Reduced fertilizer use is feared to affect crop yields over the next two to three years, potentially impacting Sabah's palm oil output, which contributes 22.1 percent of the national total.
