CIDB says Act 520 amendment won't raise building material prices
The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) expects the Fourth Schedule Amendment to Act 520 (Amendment 2026), effective August 1, to have no impact on building material prices that drive up property costs. Its deputy CEO said the amendment doesn't introduce new tests but reorganizes existing standards. The schedule now covers 102 products in 11 categories.
