Malaysia only ASEAN state at Tier 1 for PQC migration readiness

Malaysia is the only ASEAN country to reach Tier 1 in post-quantum cryptography migration readiness, according to the ASEAN Post-Quantum Cryptography Readiness 2026 report published on 1 September. The National Security Council said the achievement reflects active national-level development and implementation of PQC migration programmes, backed by policies including the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy 2025-2030 and the National PQC Migration Plan.
