DOSM: 96.2% of Malaysia's resource energy still non-renewable in 2021
Department of Statistics Malaysia data for 2021 shows 96.2% of the country's energy from natural resources came from non-renewable sources, with natural gas the largest at 75,820 ktoe. Renewables made up just 3.8%, led by hydropower at 2,676 ktoe. Manufacturing was the biggest energy consumer at 88,103 ktoe.
