Experts warn that glacier loss could trigger floods before causing long-term water shortages. Dr Serina Rahman of the National University of Singapore and Prof Dr Aweng Eh Rak of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan said the effects are already visible in India, Nepal and China, and could damage ecosystems and freshwater supplies.
