Fugitive who fled Singapore in 2022 gets 6 years 8 months over $1m villa investment scam

A 56-year-old man who left Singapore in 2022 while facing cheating charges was sentenced on Sept 15 to six years and eight months' jail over villa investment scams that cost victims more than $1 million. He pleaded guilty to 24 charges, including 22 counts of cheating, with another 140 charges taken into consideration. He was arrested in Malaysia in 2023.
