An African-American content creator alleged in a TikTok video that she and her friends faced racial discrimination at several places during a trip to Malaysia, including an airport, an e-hailing ride and a shoe store in Kuala Lumpur. She said staff ignored her while serving others, and that the treatment continued at almost every shop they visited, though she praised Malaysian food. The video drew widespread online attention and she later posted an update responding to critics.
