Court awards damages to whistleblower whose identity was leaked
The High Court in Kuala Lumpur has ruled in Norhaida binti Ramli v Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan, finding an enforcement agency liable for revealing a whistleblower's identity and awarding damages under the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010. It is the first reported monetary award of its kind under the Act.
