MACC: RM31.3bil of 1MDB funds recovered, 74.5pc of RM42bil
The head of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's anti-money laundering division, Datuk Norhaizam Muhammad, said the 1MDB scandal involved about RM42 billion channelled to the United States, Switzerland, Singapore, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. The MACC reported that RM31.3 billion, or 74.5 per cent of the funds, was traced and returned to the Malaysian government.
