Malaysia's tourism industry grows 8.6% to RM323 billion in 2025, 15.9% of GDP
Malaysia's tourism industry generated RM323.0 billion in value added in 2025, up 8.6% year-on-year and contributing 15.9% to GDP, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia. Internal tourism expenditure rose 15.2% to RM236.9 billion, with inbound spending up 16.5% and domestic spending up 13.8%. The sector employed 3.7 million people, or 22.1% of total employment.

Kelington Group Bhd has won its largest-ever contract, worth US$452 million (about RM1.83 billion), to provide turnkey ultra-high-purity tool hookup services for a semiconductor wafer fabrication plant in Gujarat, India. Kenanga Research has maintained its OUTPERFORM call and target price of RM10.10, raising its FY2026 new contract win assumption to RM4.0 billion while leaving earnings forecasts unchanged.

RHB Research raises Kelington target price to RM11.70 after RM1.83bil India contract
RHB Research has raised its target price for Kelington Group Bhd to RM11.70 from RM10.50 while keeping its 'Buy' call, after the group won its largest-ever contract in India worth RM1.83 billion. The contract covers design, installation, connection, testing and handover of manufacturing, laboratory and support tools across two facility modules for a semiconductor fabrication plant in Gujarat. RHB Research also raised its FY26 to FY28 earnings forecasts by one per cent, 11.2 per cent and 15 per cent.

JPMorgan: ASML studies building over 110 EUV machines in 2028

MIDA: Data centre boom must spill over to Malaysian firms
MIDA wants the national data centre build-out to spread economic benefits to Malaysian companies in engineering, construction, electrical systems, cooling, telecommunications, cybersecurity and logistics. Johor Bahru High Court quashes RM78.7m IRB tax assessments on Adamas Marine
The Johor Bahru High Court has quashed about RM78.7 million in tax assessments and penalties imposed on shipowner Adamas Marine Sdn Bhd. Judicial Commissioner Budiman Lutfi Mohamed ruled that the Inland Revenue Board used the wrong framework to determine ownership of the company's 16 Malaysian-registered ships, and ordered the assessments from 2007 to 2023 to be set aside.
