KPKM will not compromise on governance and integrity, says Mohamad Sabu
Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu said the ministry will not compromise on management weaknesses or non-compliance that could affect public interest. He stressed that all agencies and subsidiaries must ensure every decision, procurement and use of public funds is carried out responsibly and accountably. The statement was issued in Putrajaya today.

Anwar and Muizzu hold talks in Male, set to witness MoU exchange
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim met Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu at the President's Office in Male on Wednesday, opening with a 20-minute one-on-one before bilateral talks on trade, investment and people-to-people ties. Anwar was given a ceremonial welcome with a 21-gun salute at the Presidential Jetty, and the two leaders are due to witness the exchange of several MoUs and hold a joint press conference.

Mohd Nadzree Imran appointed Sabah Sewerage Services Department director

Chief Justice: judiciary built on judges' character, not grand courthouses
At reference proceedings at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya, Chief Justice Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh said the judiciary's standing comes from the character and conduct of judges, not from imposing buildings. The event honoured four former senior judges: Tun Mohd Eusoff Chin, Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah, Tun Abdul Hamid Mohamad and Tan Sri Siti Norma Yaakob.

AGC objects to judicial review bid over diesel subsidy targeting
The Attorney General's Chambers objected to a leave application for judicial review by two individuals against the Prime Minister and three ministers over the removal of diesel subsidies in Peninsular Malaysia. The High Court was told the subsidy decision is not subject to judicial review as it is an executive policy matter, and the issue is now academic after subsidies were standardised on July 1.

Old MyKad remains valid as new version launches Sept 17 - KDN
Malaysians need not rush to replace their MyKad when applications for the new version open on Sept 17, as existing cards remain valid and linked records are retained. Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the new card, with about 50 new security features, will be rolled out in phases starting at 40 NRD offices nationwide to avoid congestion. About 24 million MyKad have been issued to Malaysians aged 12 and above.

Zambry: Auku replacement Act being fast-tracked, briefings held with select committee
Higher education minister Zambry Abd Kadir said the ministry is expediting the drafting of a new Act to replace the Universities and University Colleges Act (Auku) 1971, retaining provisions on university establishment. Briefings are being held with the parliamentary select committee on nation building, education and human resources development. The move follows the prime minister's August announcement that Auku would be abolished and not replaced with legislation restricting student freedom.

The Malaysia Cooperative Commission (SKM) has appointed Mohd Marzuki Yusoa' as its new Chief Executive Officer effective yesterday. With over 26 years of experience in the cooperative movement, he will lead SKM's daily management and ensure policies and development programmes are carried out effectively. Suahasil Nazara appointed Indonesia's finance minister, replacing Purbaya
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto appointed Suahasil Nazara as the new finance minister on 14 September, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa in a surprise cabinet reshuffle. Suahasil pledged to keep the budget deficit below 3 percent of GDP while supporting the president's key programmes. Purbaya was informed by phone only hours before the swearing-in.

Zhulkarnain makes working visit to Egypt, discusses cooperation on 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties

He met Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and discussed bilateral cooperation as Singapore and Egypt mark 60 years of diplomatic relations. This was his first visit to Egypt since being appointed in January.

Government announces 250MW FiT quota for 2027, expects RM3bil investment
PETRA announced a new 250MW quota under the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) programme for 2027, expected to generate RM3 billion in investment and over 5,000 jobs. The quota is offered to renewable energy developers in Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan, with applications via e-bidding on the SEDA Malaysia website from Feb 3 to March 24, 2027.
