China's humanoid robots still too clumsy for factory work, data centre struggles
A training centre in Liuzhou, southern China, is using over 100 humanoid robots to generate data for embodied AI, but the robots are slow and awkward. The project, funded by a US$18 million government tender, has no clear path to profitability as the industry is driven by subsidies and spectacle rather than market demand.
