MOE to raise Phase 2C reserved places to 60 from 2027, with 12 schools splitting them into two distance tracks
The Ministry of Education will increase the number of Primary 1 places reserved for children with no prior school connections in Phase 2C from 40 to 60 starting with the 2027 registration exercise. Twelve schools in areas such as Bukit Timah, Newton and Marine Parade will divide their 60 reserved places into two tracks of 30, one for children living within 2km and one for those living farther away. The changes follow a review of the Primary 1 registration framework and aim to widen access and improve social mixing.
