New home sales in Singapore fell to 153 units in August, a 92.9 per cent drop from 2,142 units a year earlier, according to Urban Redevelopment Authority data released on Tuesday (Sept 15). Analysts attributed the slump to the Chinese seventh-month Hungry Ghost period and the absence of new project launches, with sales expected to pick up next month when new projects come to market.
