F1 returns to Sepang in October, projected to generate RM1.3 billion
The rescheduled Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at Sepang International Circuit from Oct 2 to 4, 2026, marking Formula 1's return to Malaysia for the first time since 2017. Zahid: Umno's challengers have two options, call an election or expel Umno formally
Umno president Zahid Hamidi said those challenging Umno to leave the unity government have only two choices: call a general election, or formally expel Umno and move a no-confidence vote in the Dewan Rakyat. He said cooperation in the unity government does not mean Umno surrendering its future or identity, and that Umno-BN is free to chart its own course, including for GE16 and the Melaka state election. Kajang police hunt two men who fled check and rammed MPV
Police in Kajang are tracking two men who fled after being stopped for inspection by an MPV patrol unit on Jalan Semenyih near the Kajang Prima traffic lights yesterday afternoon. The green Proton Wira hit a Perodua Ativa before ramming the police MPV, damaging its front right door, but no one was injured. The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code and police are asking the public to come forward with information.

Former judge assault: textile tycoon and another ordered to enter defence

The screwdriver attack occurred near Solaris Dutamas on 19 Oct 2023 and is believed to have stemmed from a family dispute. Two other attackers were sentenced to seven years' jail after a prosecution appeal.

MAIS brings Bidayuh customs to diaspora in Peninsular Malaysia

Selangor records RM70bil approved investment as of June, eyes RM80bil target

Universiti Malaya researchers turn prawn shells into biodegradable plastic film
Researchers at Universiti Malaya's Faculty of Engineering have converted discarded prawn shells into chitosan, a natural biopolymer, and used it with starch to produce biodegradable plastic films. In soil burial tests, the films began visibly degrading after three weeks and had substantially broken down by the fourth. The work links two Malaysian waste problems - food waste and plastic waste - but the material is still far from commercial use.

RM350,000 to upgrade roads and lifts at Bandar Tasik Selatan flats
The government has allocated RM350,000 to upgrade road structures at the Bandar Tasik Selatan low-cost flats in Kuala Lumpur under the 2026 Projek Mesra Rakyat initiative. The flats' lifts will also be repaired, and a RM72,000 Flexi EV Charging station with four chargers was launched at the same event. Police seek public help to find missing 16-year-old girl in Kelana Jaya
A 16-year-old Malaysian Tamil girl, Mangala Kali Vigneswaran, has been reported missing from her home in Kelana Jaya, Selangor. She was last seen at 5.45am on September 11 in her school pinafore, and Petaling Jaya police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
