FAM delegates vote to hold congress and elections despite ineligible electoral chairman
FAM delegates at a hotel in Petaling Jaya voted to proceed with an Extraordinary Congress and executive committee elections even though the Electoral Committee chairman and deputy do not meet the legal qualification required by the FAM Electoral Code. Congress chairman Windsor Paul warned the decision could be challenged at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, after Selangor FA raised a formal objection.

Papagomo's bid to delay RM280,000 payment to Guan Eng and son rejected
The High Court in Kuala Lumpur dismissed blogger Wan Azri Wan Deris's application to stay a RM280,000 defamation judgment in favour of Lim Guan Eng and his son. Justice Roslan Mat Nor found no special circumstances to justify the stay and ordered Wan Azri to pay RM5,000 in costs.

Four factories destroyed in Puchong industrial park fire

Former inmate in Batu Caves earns a living as a tailor
Mohd Khairul Azam Mohd Halim, 45, who was held at Sungai Buloh, Kajang and Jelebu prisons on a drug offence, now runs Bengkel Jahitan Manisah in Kampung Sungai Kertas, Batu Caves with his wife. He learned tailoring while serving his sentence, including a Malaysian Skills Certificate course, and now takes orders for baju kurung, kebaya, baju Melayu and uniforms.

Furniture warehouse in Port Klang catches fire, 70% damaged
A two-storey furniture storage warehouse on Jalan Perusahaan 22, Kampung Idaman, Port Klang, caught fire this afternoon. About 70 per cent of the building was affected and a Perodua Viva was 20 per cent damaged, but no casualties were reported. The fire was brought under control at 5.31pm and the cause is under investigation.

Body of missing fisherman identified by wife after boat capsizing
The body of Muhammad Shahril Abdul Rahman, one of the fishermen missing after a boat capsized, was found this morning in the waters off Hutan Melintang, Perak. His wife identified him by his shirt and ear shape at the Kampung Semenja jetty camp in Kapar. The body was sent to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem.
