Chief Justice: Syed Ahmad Idid's pension is outside judiciary's purview, refer to JPA
Chief Justice Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh said the pension matter of former High Court judge Datuk Syed Ahmad Idid Syed Abdullah Idid must be referred to the Public Services Department as it falls outside the judiciary's jurisdiction. He spoke after attending a memorial ceremony for former Chief Justices and Judges of Malaya at Istana Kehakiman in Putrajaya. The Bar Council had earlier urged the government to restore Syed Ahmad Idid's full pension, which he has not received since being forced to resign in July 1996.

Late Chief Justice Abdul Hamid remembered at Palace of Justice reference proceedings

Four children who fell into Kulim drain buried in single grave
Four children who fell into a drain at Taman Desa Kayangan, Sungai Karangan, Kulim last night have completed post-mortems at the Forensic Department of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar. Their bodies will be taken back to Kulim for burial in a single grave at the Tanah Perkuburan Islam Masjid Sungai Karangan today. The incident happened when they tried to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the drain.

BIM saved RM157m and 10 years on Pan Borneo Sarawak, Works Ministry says
The Works Ministry said Building Information Modelling resolved over 3,000 drawing errors on the Pan Borneo Sarawak Highway in 2016, saving RM157 million and avoiding a potential 10-year delay. Former minister Jamil Khir charged over RM860.3m Tabung Haji assets
In Kuala Lumpur, former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom was charged in the Sessions Court with three counts of dishonestly transferring over RM860.3 million in Tabung Haji assets. The 65-year-old pleaded not guilty and claimed trial. The judge set bail at RM300,000 and postponed the case to November 5.

KPPA: Stop repeated errors in public sector human resource management
Public Service Director-General Tan Sri Dr Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz called for an end to repeated errors in public sector human resource management by addressing root causes. Police: Viral Cyberjaya barrier push was done with Tamarind Square management's permission
A traffic policeman was filmed pushing open an automatic barrier at Tamarind Square in Cyberjaya while escorting the official convoy of Datuk Undang Luak Johol. Sepang police chief Norhizam Bahaman said the officer acted after the barrier failed to open and the premises management told him to push it manually, then restore it afterwards. A 15-year-old girl died after falling from a high floor of an apartment in Precinct 5, Putrajaya, on Friday night. Police received a call at 10.33pm and the girl was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer from Putrajaya Hospital. The case is classified as sudden death and an autopsy will be conducted today.

MACC hands eight governance recommendations on JPN shop lot rentals
